报告摘要:
I will show results obtained during the last few years merging techniques from Systems Biology and Bioinformatics to model Metabolic Networks. We will first introduce a theoretical model that justifies the presence of bistable states in a Toy model of metabolism and in mammalian cells. We will also present experimental results supporting these results. Then, we will show how to use the same mathematical framework to optimize in-silico the media used to grow mammalian cells in batch cultures and again we will report an experimental validation of our predictions. Finally, we demonstrate that the same idea can be extended to study heterogeneous cellular cultures and to estimate the distribution of flux densities of the chemical reactions in the metabolism.
