报告人简介：

孙庆平，清华大学固体力学博士（1989），材料科学博士后（1989—1991）。1994年任清华大学工程力学系正教授，1995年赴香港科技大学任教。现为香港科技大学机械与航空航天工程学系讲座教授、集成微系统研究中心主任、固态制冷材料与技术实验室主任。曾任香港科技大学机械与航空航天工程系系主任、深圳研究院院长、深港协同创新研究院院长及香港力学学会理事长。研究聚焦固体力学、材料科学、传热结构、固态制冷及多尺度多场耦合相变。主持国家杰青、海外杰青及香港特区政府重大研究项目60余项。在Nature, Science, Nature Energy, Nature Nanotechnology， Nature Communication, Joule, Acta Mater, J. Mech. Phys. Solids 等刊物发表学术论文200余篇。曾任法国巴黎理工、巴黎高师客座教授及武汉大学讲席教授，国家自然科学奖1项、教育部自然科学奖3项、日内瓦国际发明展金奖和特别金奖。

报告摘要：

Elastocaloric solid-state cooling and heating harvests latent heat from stress-induced cyclic phase transitions in shape memory alloys, providing a greenhouse-gas-free alternative to vapor-compression refrigeration. This talk reviews recent progress and key challenges, focusing on high-performance alloys, cost-effective structural manufacturing and energy-efficient actuation, and highlights the multidisciplinary work needed to advance the technology.
